President-elect Trump is bringing Peter Navarro back to the White House for his second Administration.
Navarro will serve as a top trade adviser, according to AP News. He earned his economics doctorate from Harvard University, worked as an economics and public policy professor at the University of California, Irvine, and ran for Mayor of San Diego in 1992. During Trump’s first term, Navarro urged for tariffs and focused on counterfeited imports.
In a post to Truth Social, Trump wrote that the position “leverages Peter’s broad range of White House experience, while harnessing his extensive Policy analytic and Media skills.”
