Pork might be the perfect protein for consumers to get most of their money

While inflation may be cooling, consumers are still paying high prices at the grocery store. It is why the Pork Board is encouraging them to get pork a try and say it can help stretch valuable food dollars.

“The shoulder is a very versatile piece of meat. Take a pork shoulder, smoke it, and make pulled pork so you have pulled pork sandwiches one day. The next day, you can shred that, crisp it up in a cast iron skillet, and do street tacos. The next day, you could do the same thing with nachos and make pulled pork nachos. So be thinking about pork from a standpoint of, okay, it’s a $20 ring at the retail store, but I can feed my family for three days this week.”

The Pork Board says they are working to bring in new customers after seeing a generational divide on buyers of U.S. pork.
