Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley believes that it is crucial that something is done to address the issues drought caused the Mighty Mississippi, and he is supporting efforts in DC to get more infrastructure money for the vital waterway.
“I support the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that added over $800 million dollars for Mississippi lock and dam improvements. I’m reaching out to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee to remind them of the importance of investing in our lock and dam infrastructure. Mississippi and Missouri rivers are vital to get our export grains out of the Midwest. As harvest continues, I want to make sure infrastructure like locks and dams stay top of mind.”
