Rep. Newhouse: Growing awareness and urgency of farm labor issue in Congress

With so many issues being addressed in D.C., some farmers may feel like their needs are not being addressed.

Finding workers has been challenging across many sectors, but ag labor was difficult before the pandemic.

Congressman Dan Newhouse of Washington state says that it is getting more and more attention with a growing urgency on Capitol Hill.

“We passed the bill in the House this spring, and there’s a group of Senators that have taken up the mantle of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act and have been working very well together-- a bipartisan group of Senators. And we’ll continue to work with them to do all we can to move that legislation through the Senate,” Newhouse states.
