Rare Performances Not Seen in 40 Years Showcase Tammy Wynette, the Statler Brothers, Merle Haggard and More!
(NASHVILLE, TENN. — November 3rd, 2016) RFD-TV is bringing back “That Nashville Music” which features classic country performances by musical legends from the Grand Ole Opry® archives in Nashville, TN. The series offers rare performances not seen in decades from legendary stars such as George Jones, Mickey Gilley, Tammy Wynette and more! The series premieres on the national cable network with Barbara Mandrell and the Statler Brothers on November 5th at 8:30 p.m. ET during the network’s weekly music and entertainment lineup, “Saturday Night Music Row.”
“For years the number one request from viewers has been to add programming from the Grand Ole Opry stage to RFD-TV. “That Nashville Music” (originally titled “That Good Ole Nashville Music”) was a half-hour syndicated series that featured some of the period’s top selling country artists performing some of their current or popular hits. Produced in association with WSM-TV and Opryland U.S.A. in Nashville, TN, the series was on-air for a grand total of 15 seasons from 1970 – 1985.
RFD-TV and the Opry plan to collaborate on additional programming content featuring the Grand Ole Opry stage. More details will be released in coming months.
