NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Texas Country Music Association Award-winning artist Trey Calloway is thrilled to announce the release of his latest single, “Backroad Believer.” Co-written by Trey Calloway, Steven Cade, and Andrea Renfree, this upbeat, rock-infused country track delivers an electrifying mix of positivity and spirituality, blending Calloway’s signature country and Christian influences. The song draws inspiration from Calloway’s roots as a preacher’s son who embraced both his faith and a love for country music and the open road during his teenage years. Currently nominated for the 2024 Texas Country Music Association Christian Songwriter of the Year for “Backroad Believer,” Calloway’s latest release was produced by Grady Saxman and features backing vocals by Tae Lewis, a close friend and former contestant on The Voice. The song made its debut on RFD-TV and was featured by CCM Magazine.
“My new single “Backroad Believer” is inspired by my upbringing as a faithful preacher’s son who fell in love with country music and the open road as a free-spirited teenager,” smiles Trey. I’m incredibly excited to be releasing this song from my upcoming album, ‘Wanted Man.’ I hope it resonates with y’all the way it does with me. Also a huge thanks to RFD for premiering it!”
“Backroad Believer” is being released in a year marked by significant milestones for Calloway, including over 1 million additional streams on Spotify and features on CMT. He has also secured 2023 Country Song of the Year titles from both the Texas Country Music Awards and the Josie Music Awards, as well as Gospel Song of the Year recognition from the Carolina Country Music Association.
