Sen. Grassley: The Cattle Price Discovery & Transparency Act is too important to wait on

On a call with reporters, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley stressed the important of cattle legislation.

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley addressed the Cattle Price Discovery & Transparency Act, telling reporters that despite rumors of a shortened session this fall, it is important that lawmakers do not lose the bipartisan momentum for something that could benefit cattle producers.

“We’re going to have to get our heads together, those of us that are pushing it, and make that strategy. The point is, we’ve got enough going for us that this either has to come up before we go home or soon after we get back, but we can’t let up on this with sponsorship and bipartisan sponsorship that we have,” said Sen. Grassley.

He also believes lawmakers will pass a Farm Bill on time in 2023.
