The woman poised to take leadership of the Senate ag committee says establishing a carbon market will be her top priority.
Senator Debbie Stabenow will likely chair the committee once again with the Senate now split 50-50. She’s a sponsor of a bill that accelerates Carbon Credit Trading through the USDA.
Stabenow says the exchange would be voluntary, but she told reporters in Washington yesterday climate policy for farmers & ranchers is a top priority for her. She did not say which, if any, regulations from the Trump era she would push to repeal.
