Due to strong viewer request, RFD-TV is bringing back “The Joey+Rory Show.” The popular RFD-TV series follows the husband-and-wife singer-songwriters Joey and Rory Feek as they performed their country/bluegrass tunes and lived life on their small Tennessee farm with their newborn baby. The series was produced by Joey and Rory and aired for four seasons on RFD-TV premiering in 2012 until it’s finale in 2014.
As a complement to each season, Rory has produced a retrospective episode that will include interviews with himself, Wynn Varble, Rory’s sister Marcy Gary (from Marcy Jo’s), Bradley Walker and Gabe McCauley. The tribute special was filmed in the barn where they originally shot, “The Joey+Rory Show,” and serves as an opportunity for family and friends to come together and share never-before-told stories about how the show was created, favorite stories and moments, and reflect on what the show means to them now - three years and a lifetime of change later.
“The Joey+Rory Show” returns to the program lineup beginning Saturday, December 31st at 9:30 pm ET.
Joey Feek lost her fight to cancer in March of 2016. Rory told PEOPLE Magazine that their final words to each other were three words of significance. “We repeated ‘I love you’ three times to each other,” said Rory. “It’s the last line of a song I wrote years ago called ‘Josephine,’ an imaginary love story between a husband and wife.”
Rory’s tribute documentary, “To Joey, With Love,” was released in September of 2016 and is now on sale at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon and other retail outlets.
The Feeks have released six albums together, including top 30 hit “Cheater, Cheater” released in 2008. In 2016, Joey+Rory scored their first-ever Grammy nomination, along with an ACM nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year. In addition, the couple was honored at the 2016 ICM and Dove Awards in October of 2016. They were named the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Vocal Duo in 2010 after Rory had already penned several hit country songs for artists such as Blake Shelton and Clay Walker. The duo is also remembered for their third-place finalist on CMT’s competition “Can You Duet” in 2008.
Rory encourages fans to peruse his blog of their experiences at ThisLifeILive.com. In a recent entry, he wrote, “Joey’s hope never fades. No amount of pain or medicine can touch it. It runs too deep. It’s connected to her faith in God and, as she’ll tell you, God can do anything.”
In addition, RFD-TV is re-airing the duo’s 2012 Christmas Special, “Joey+Rory: A Farmhouse Christmas,” on Saturday, December 24 at 9:00 PM ET and Sunday, December 25 at 7:00 PM ET.
