Schaff Angus Valley has produced record-breaking bulls time after time, but in 2019 they smashed their own record for a single bull sale.
The ranch sold SAV America for a staggering $1.51 million.
Herbster Angus Farms out of Nebraska purchased the record-setting bull last February.
America set the record at Schaff Angus Valley for 205-day weaning weight at 1,107 lb. America is described as standing out since day one according to the sale book.
“He presents himself with true herd bull authority – long-bodied, thick, square-hipped, deep and massive with a sound structure, large scrotal and gentle disposition.”
America also ranked in the top 1% for weaning weight, yearling weight, and carcass weight.
The winning bid represents an 80% semen share, so the actual value of America, based on the auction sale is $.2.67 million.
The previous record was $800,000 sold in the same auction in 2018.
