The Renewable Fuels Association said Monday that corn ethanol producers will lose around $12.5 billion, which would be 43 percent loss from 2019.
“We really haven’t sold a gallon since sometime in early March,” CEO of Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy Mike Jerke told Politico.
None of the $19 billion in aid from USDA went toward ethanol but Renewable Fuels Association President Geoff Cooper believes a fourth stimulus package would have money allocated.
Iowa Democrats announced they were “severely disappointed” no money went to the biofuel industry.
