Direct-market growers get a win with the second round of CFAP. Small and diversified farmers who rely on federal support to keep their businesses running are now eligible for payments up to 10.6 percent of their 2019 revenue.
Sanaz Arjomand, with the National Young Farmers Coalition, spoke with RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison on how the second round of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program will benefit young farmers.
Arjomand notes that this win was due to her members:
“We have to give a lot of credit to our farmer members. They took time out of a really stressful moment, in a lot of cases the height of their season, to reach out to their members of Congress,” she said. “Sent over 5,000 emails, they took meetings, roundtables, took time with press and shared their stories.”
