CHS Foundation set to donate $4 million to FFA

We are learning more about a large donation to the National FFA.

CHS Foundation announced it will give $4 million dollars to the organization, over the next three years. The money will be used to support teachers and future ag leaders. FFA Communication manager Kristy Meyer says that ag teachers are pivotal in helping the next generation.

“We’ve seen examples of them helping their communities, may be contributing to food banks or helping with local community gardening. They are taking that service aspect and applying it not only to their communities, but also with their students,” she states. “Showing their students how they can continue to give back and be part of their communities.”

CHS Foundation has been a generous partner with the National FFA for more than 40 years.

Another group contributing to FFA is the Northern International Livestock Exposition, or NILE.

It has awarded scholarships to members, as well as 4-H members, for three decades. This year, the foundation will award more than $35,000 dollars in tuition. Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, the scholarship program will remain strong this year.

Jennifer Boka, the General Manager for Nile, states, “We are committed to continuing our scholarship program this year amid these strange times and we want to continue to create “agvocates” and continue to create opportunities for kids to either speak on our behalf or work in the industry that we love so much.”

The NILE Foundation is in the middle of its scholarship application process. You have until March 1st to apply.
