The Canadian Pacific Railway is set to become the first rail freight network to link Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, after announcing a large acquisition yesterday.
RealAg Radio’s Shaun Haney speaks with RFD-TV on the details of the acquisition, the hurdles before approval, and how Canadian farmers are reacting.
Haney states, “Really kind of undetermined yet the impact for Canadian agriculture in terms of shipping products south to Mexico... in terms of the hurdles, I think they are significant. In the fact, Canadian railways trying to make acquisitions of U.S. railways have not been treated very kindly in the past...”
