TC Energy, the Canadian company that owned the Keystone XL Pipeline, is looking to file a notice of intent against the U.S. and is asking for $15 billion dollars in damages.
This all stems from the fact that President Biden revoked the pipeline’s permit during one of his first days in office, thus canceling the project.
“TC Energy will be seeking to recover more than $15 billion in damages that it has suffered as a result of the U.S. Government’s breach of its NAFTA obligations,” the company stated in a press release, according to Fox Business.
One of the ripple effects from the cancelation of the pipeline that many are outraged over is the number of jobs that it would have created.
