Bill Continues to Show Us What To Do With His Palette Knife.
Bill continues his Still Life In Vase painting.
Today he will add reflection and shadow. He proceeds to show us that it is possible to paint an entire painting, in a short period of time, entirely with a Palette Knife.
Points To Consider:
- Bill is using thick, firm paint.
- In the reflections on the table he uses Permanent Red for the highlights side of the vase.
- The left side of the reflection is painted with Alizarin Crimson, which is a blue red color.
- He uses vertical strokes so the lines go down the table
- The reflection appears more concentrated next to the vase.
- The shadow is painted with a darker color. A mixture of Violet and Alizarin Crimson will do.
- Bill uses a vertical stroke to put in the shadow of the vase.
- Bill lights up the rim by using a thick Cadmium Yellow paint. When he wants it to be brighter he adds a little light to the yellow.
We hope you are painting along. Every one of us has creativity inside. All we have to do is let it come out. Bill loved to teach people to paint. He did so much more than that though, He taught people to see the beauty in the world. He taught us that we have to have dark to show light, not only in painting but in life experiences as well. He also showed us the way to look for the good in everything.
