Breaking news out of the Senate regarding the infrastructure bill.
VP Harris: “On this vote, the yeas are 69, the nays are 30. The bill as amended is passed.”
Ag groups are praising the Senate’s passage of a trillion dollar infrastructure bill. The American Farm Bureau says that issues facing infrastructure are too important to ignore and farmers and ranchers rely on it to get their products on the table.
NCBA says that the bill is important to rural America and farmers.
It contains more money for rural broadband, roads and bridges, water and sewer lines, and power grids. However, the bill faces an uncertain future in the House, where Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that she will not bring it to the floor without a larger $3.5 trillion dollar spending bill.
That bill faces opposition from all Republicans and even some Democrats who are concerned about spending levels.
