Ranchers on southern border may see relief with reinstatement of “Remain in Mexico”

Ranchers along the southern border could hopefully see some relief next month from the surge of illegal immigrants.

A federal court ordered the Biden administration to reinstate the Trump era “Remain in Mexico” policy. This requires migrants seeking asylum to stay in Mexico while their paperwork is processed.

We have heard reports over the last few months of damaged fences, land, and even murdered ranchers by suspected migrants.

There have been 1.5 million crossings in the past year, making this the busiest two decades.
