Farm groups have asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to remove tariffs on some fertilizers.
They are targeting the duties on phosphate from Morocco, saying that the tariffs have given Mosaic a near monopoly status on the nutrient.
The National Corn Growers Association says that farmers are feeling the pain and warns there could be a shortage if the commission does not take action.
The 19 percent tariff was imposed back in March, following a petition from Mosaic and was meant to be in place for five years.
