It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in DC; a Fraser fir has entered the White House

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the nation’s capital. First Lady Jill Biden received the official White House Christmas tree.

The 18 1/2 foot Fraser fir hails from Peak Farms of Jefferson, North Carolina. It was presented by Rusty and Beau Estes, the farm’s owner.

It is not their first White House experience. They have provided Christmas trees for the White House under the Bush and Obama administrations. The tree arrived at the North Portico via jingle bell-bedecked horse and carriage.

The tradition has been a “merry tradition” since 1966. The tree will be placed in the oval-shaped blue room.
