The new exporting year that began in October, is off to a great start for agriculture exporters. During the month, export numbers usually increase, but USDA reports a 50% increase for an additional $50 billion. Soybeans were up 350% from September. Also, corn exports rose 45%.
USDA Economist, Bart Kenner, says “Agricultural exports for calendar year to date, January through October 2021 were $142.1 billion, up 21% from $117.7 billion in 2020.”
In the protein sector, the value of beef exports reached nearly one billion dollars, which is the second highest on record.
