Farmers are beginning the recovery process after December’s deadly tornado in Kentucky.
Research facilities at the University of Kentucky were destroyed, but the cattle specialist on campus says the long tradition of farmers helping farmers is still underway. They have been helping each other clear fields of debris and loads of fencing supplies have been donated.
“Even 12 hours after the storm, I was getting phone calls from as far way as Iowa with people wanting to bring us hay, and you know those resources came so, so quickly, almost overwhelmingly you know, how much people wanted to help and wanted to get supplies to us. It is humbling.”
Even though it has been nearly three months since the storm, people in its path say the recovery process is really just in the beginning stages.
