The American Soybean Association voted to support a free trade agreement between the U.S. and India.
Voting delegates say there is rising demand and an increasing population. The Indian government temporarily opened its market to U.S. soymeal last year. Both Indian livestock producers and U.S. farmers hope the government will do it again. Right now, India is in a bit of a geo-political quandary because it has a long-standing trade agreement with Russia, but it needs partners like the U.S.. In the last 24 hours, India confirmed it is in talks with Russia to import discounted oil.
