An Oregon judge has stopped an appeal to the farmworker overtime bill.
The Governor is expected to sign the measure, which would mandate overtime pay for agriculture workers. It would be phased in over the next three years. The judge paused the legal challenge until June 2nd, when the law would take effect.
State officials say the challenge would then become irrelevant. The Governor’s Office says the bill strikes the right balance between supporting farmworkers and the ag sector.
