Senate’s latest version of Cattle Market Reform Bill has flaws, according to economists

Several economists say that the Senate’s latest version of the Cattle Market Reform Bill has some glaring flaws.

Specifically, they say that the bill attempts to solve a non-existing problem, does not offer benefits for fed cattle markets, and imposes an expensive cost, added risk, and lost value.

A hearing is scheduled tomorrow in the Senate Ag Committee and Senator Chuck Grassley says that he thinks it has enough support to pass the full Senate. The House Ag Committee will take it up Wednesday.
