Commodity and farm organizations are offering their thoughts bout what they want to see in the new Farm Bill.
American Soybean Association President Brad Doyle and Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall describe the feedback process.
“Since early 2022, ASA has held twelve virtual Farm Bill listening sessions, both by region and by topic with interested soybean farmers across soy’s 30 primary growing states,” Doyle explains.
“We have a Farm Bill working group now that will bring in representatives from all 50 states that will look at the current Farm Bill to see how it’s performing and try to find what might need to be tweaked in it, and then we move forward in the policy arena,” Duvall adds.
The House has already started Farm Bill hearings. The Senate begins work later this week.
