The latest drought monitor was released and it shows little relief was felt in the state of Texas, despite significant rainfall. The northern U.S. received a blanket of snow in many places including North Dakota, southeastern Montana and portions of Wyoming. The Red River Valley even saw flooding from that snowfall. However, the Plains and southwest saw hardly any relief with high winds continuing to blow dust and spread wildfires.
One farmer in Nebraska shared his farming conditions on Twitter which showed the extreme dry conditions they are facing as they begin planting. Thankfully, he’s out of the line of fire. However, he says the tractor has just made two passes and there’s an incredible amount of dust blowing everywhere from the ongoing drought they are battling.
