Maine blueberry growers had a big year in 2021!
USDA reports that the state produced 105 million pounds, valued at more than $80 million dollars.
That is nearly three times higher than the previous year. Growers attribute the success to good weather, especially after the drought in 2020.
Blueberries are among Maine’s most important food products along with lobsters and potatoes.
