The USDA is offering more support for American ag exporters.
The new Commodity Container Assistance Program will provide funding from the Farm Service Agency to help reduce the costs of sourcing containers at pop-up port locations. Exporters will now be able to pick up or drop off containers, freeing up already congested port space.
U.S. dairy producers are welcoming this announcement, saying that they are grateful to see the speed and innovative approach the department is taking to handle this ongoing challenge.
