Negotiations with western dockworkers continue, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says so far they are going smoothly.
While he is optimistic a strike at the ports will be avoided, he is less certain about when we can expect the supply chain to get back to normal. Buttigieg says he cannot guarantee it will be by this fall’s harvest.
He emphasized the White House is working on short and long-term investments to make the supply chain more resilient no matter what curve balls are thrown.
