We are starting with a look at more record-breaking fuel prices.
The national average for gas hit more than $5 a gallon, at $5.01. Diesel is up to $5.77 a gallon on average. This morning, 20 states are now seeing above $5 a gallon at the pump.
This week, the House will vote on the Lower Food and Fuel Costs bill. It was originally just the Special Investigator Bill to enforce fair play in meatpacking, but now, it encompasses six other bills, including one that would allow the summertime sale of E15.
House Ag Committee top Republican Glenn Thompson is not optimistic. He says the legislation is a charade that does nothing to lower costs. This bill could be very influential for the ag industry.
