The House is set to vote on legislation to expand biofuel infrastructure and year-round sales of E-15 this week.
The Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act is a response to fuel inflation, anti-competitive behavior in livestock markets, and demand for better conservation efforts on farms. The package would authorize $200 million dollars to expand biofuel equipment and facilities, and lift summer restrictions on E-15 fuel sales.
Supporters say that this could offer drivers a lower-cost alternative with fuel prices at an all-time high.
