The first Ukrainian grain shipment docks

The first grain shipment to leave a Ukrainian port since Russia’s invasion made it safely to its first stop.

It left the Odesa port Monday and according to this tracker, it is now anchored off the coast of Turkey while officials inspect it for the first time. From there, it will make its way to Tripoli.

As part of the United Nations deal, one ship will leave Ukrainian ports per day. Officials hope the agreement will help ease the global food crisis and get much-needed fertilizer to the rest of the world. Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister says it will take months before exports reach pre-war levels.
