Three more ships carrying thousands of tons of corn have left Ukrainian ports.
They are bound for Ireland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom, and follow the first grain shipment that is currently on its way to Tripoli. The passage of that vessel was the first under the newly-inked grain deal by Turkey and the United Nations.
While the hope for the shipments is to ease the global food crisis, much of the grain that Ukraine is trying to export is used for animal feed, according to AP News. These vessels are among more than a dozen cargo ships and carriers that had been loaded with grain but stuck at ports. The cargoes are not expected to have a great impact on the global price of corn, soybeans, and wheat.
