USDA expects 2022 sorghum production to be well below last year.
The crop is expected to be 286.12 million bushels, compared to 447.81 million a year ago.
Brownfield reports the decline is fueled by less planted area. As well as a lower average yield due to drought in some key growing areas.
The new marketing year for sorghum starts September 1st.
The USDA’s next supply, demand, and production numbers will be out on September 12th.
