For the first time since the final passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, we are hearing from Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack.
He is praising the nearly $40 billion for agriculture and rural America and says the United States has not seen an investment this large for conservation since the Dust Bowl. With $500 million being dedicated to upgrading biofuel infrastructure, recent calls for making E15 the national standard could be on the way to reality.
“The bill also provides $500 million to build out the biofuel blender infrastructure necessary to continue to increase the utilization of higher blend biofuels and also provides additional tax credits to spur the sustainable aviation biofuel industry as it meets its target of 3 billion gallons by 2030 and 35 billion gallons by 2050,” said Vilsack.
He adds the additional funding also gives the 2023 Farm Bill creators greater flexibility.
