Louisiana rice harvest is more than halfway done, and the yields have been excellent so far. The weather during the growing season was good, but the harvest season has been plagued by rain.
The state is expected to harvest 400,000 acres of rice this year, which is a decrease of about 40,000 acres from last year.
LSU Ag Center’s Craig Gautreaux has the story from southwest Louisiana.
