Sue McCrum

FarmHer host Marji Guyler Alaniz travels to Maine to meet a FarmHer with a potato empire. Sue and Jay McCrum introduced potatoes to their fourth generation farm back in 1972. Now, County Super Spuds is a major operation with its own transport company and potato processing plant.

“We have 12,000 acres overall, but we have a rotation and smaller fields. We’re very fortunate we can keep potatoes 12 months out of the year.” said Sue.

FarmHer begins with a glimpse of harvest and hauling before discovering a storage bin filled with 5.2 million pounds of potatoes. Sue is a Syngenta Leadership at Its Best graduate and former American Agri-Women president whose leadership skills helped raise this potato kingdom to the top.
