Cultivated meat could become a new market for soybean growers.
Research from Purdue University found demand for soybean consumption will go up due to more availability of meat substitutes. Researchers found during the production of cultivated meats, soybeans can be the primary source for a necessary nutrient used to help those cells grow into food. They say the ratio needed to make that happen is high, which will boost demand for soybeans.
Earlier this month, the first order of cultivated chicken was dished out in California.
