There is a $3.7 million initiative to convert idle farmland into a thriving ecosystem

Idle farmland in Arkansas could soon be converted into hardwood forest ecosystems thanks to a $3.7 million grant from USDA. The initiative is part of a nationwide effort to enhance carbon sequestration and improve water quality.

Director of the Arkansas Forest Resources Center, Dr. Michael Blazier spoke with RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander on how this project came to be, the benefits to agriculture, and the research going into this project.
