TV Host Mike Rowe stops by MDR

Mike Rowe is a TV host, writer, narrator, producer, actor and spokesman, and throughout his career, or rather his hundreds of “jobs”, he has earned respect as a man who is game to get the job done, or at least learn how it is done.

Rowe was also a featured keynote speaker for this month’s American Farm Bureau Convention.

He spoke with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on being a voice for the farm sector, his connection with the National FFA, closing America’s skills gap, and his new program Six Degrees.

“Everywhere I went on Dirty Jobs it was the same thing. I heard from farmer, I heard from trades people, and small business people in all 50 states. We just can’t find people who are willing to learn a skill that is in demand,” he states. “There is so much emphasis on a four year degree, and not enough emphasis on learning a practical skill.”
