The pandemic has redefined the meaning of being flexible. When it comes to farm programs, USDA granted several flexibilities, including deadlines and electronic signatures, to make it easy as possible to sign up while social distancing. These options were set to end this month, but USDA’s Risk Management Agency extended them through the end of June.
“Government always has deadlines. And, um, because of COVID and wanting to keep partners safe, we recognize that we need to be nimble when it comes to achieving the signatures that are required or the submissions that are required. And that’s in essence, what this does.”
