There is some good news for the beef industry after tests from USDA show they have found no traces of High Path Avian Flu in ground beef.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service collected 30 samples form retail locations across the nine states where the virus was detected in dairy cattle. APHIS conducted the testing and all were negative for the virus.
The news surrounding ground beef comes after the FDA looked at nearly 300 samples of retail milk. So far, no viable virus has been detected in those samples. U.S. health officials remain confident the U.S. milk supply is safe.
