USDA will soon dish out more than $25 million to help small rural businesses.
There are more than 40 projects on the list within the livestock and protein sectors. Some grants include $600,000 for a vaccine against the Asian long-horned tick, and another $650,000 will go to measuring methane releases.
USDA says these projects will help enhance U.S. agriculture on a global scale. Other projects include more than half a million dollars for operations making cricket-based protein powder.
