USDA set to temporarily suspend farm loan debts

USDA just announced they will temporarily suspend debt collections, foreclosures and other activities on farm loans.

Borrowers under the Farm Storage Facility and the Direct Farm Loan Programs administered by the FSA are now eligible for extension deadlines.

They said that they will work with the U.S. Attorney’s office to stop judicial foreclosures and evictions on accounts that were previously referred to the Department of Justice. The measure is designed to help farmers hit by the coronavirus pandemic and economic slump with more than 12,000 borrowers qualifying.
