Vertical farming could benefit from portable power fueled by nuclear energy

Portable generators are convenient tools on the farm, but what if you could bring in portable power fueled by nuclear energy?

One company is exploring its options and hopes vertical farming could benefit from the technology.

“We began some of our discussions with vertical farms companies to try and find the best fit. Because the idea here is that when we build our prototype, we’ll demonstrate that the prototype can power on these vertical farms. And the fortunate part is that the energy drawdown for a lot of these vertical farms is $1 significant amount of the total power of the microreactor. So if it is a community of 1,000 people, 2,000 people, 3,000, we could still supply them power that could be used for industry, for medical facilities, but also a small section of that could be utilized, then for food,” said Nano nuclear energy. CEO, James Walker.

Walker says these micro reactors are great for remote or rural locations. He says they currently offer packages that could serve thousands around the world.
