Retail powerhouse, Walmart, announced its plans to build its first case-ready beef plant.
The new facility will be located in Olathe, Kansas. The company says the plant is designed to boost its supply chain to meet growing demand. They plan to break ground later this year and will eventually package and distribute a selection of Angus cuts directly to Walmart stores throughout the Midwest.
The plant will be around 320,000 square feet and sit on 60 acres. The company hopes to have it up and running by 2025.
