Farmer sentiment has now reached lows not seen since 2016 according to this morning’s Ag Economy Barometer.
Declining income expectations are to blame, plummeting farm sentiment by 12 points to just 88. The barometer’s index of current conditions and future expectations also fell, all adding up to make for the weakest barometer readings seen since March 2016.
Weak output prices combined with high input costs were key problems cited by survey respondents in September.
