What kind of impact could the overturned Chevron Doctrine have on food safety?

The Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn Chevron has largely been seen as a major win for the ag sector by removing burdensome oversight but some worry it could have an impact on food safety.

Darin Detwiler, a food policy professor with Northeastern University says federal food agencies will have their work cut out for them. He says that will need to strengthen their regulatory justifications and seek clarity on a lot of gray areas.

The overwhelming response from the ag industry has been good, with most saying the court’s decision will have a widespread impact for years to come.
