With grain market surprises, sometimes fundamentals don’t make sense, analysts say

Harvest has already begun in fields across the U.S., and the markets have been very active lately. Analysts say there are several reasons we have seen big moves this week.

“So it’s just one of those things that really scratches the head in terms of some of the money flow. But realistically, sometimes fundamentals get pushed to the sidelines when the money wants to leave a position, and that’s what we’re seeing at this time frame. Some of that has been triggered by number one, that interest rate cut. And we had that come into play just kind of makes it a little bit more of a commodity-friendly environment, weaker dollar, more cash in the in the system. So that helps out the commodity space,” said John Heinberg.

Another area the markets are watching is South America. Crops there are starting to go in the ground, but weather concerns have helped push the rallies we’ve seen over the last week.
